Bristol Palin Speech Canceled Amid Washington University Student Protests

Bristol Palin Speech Canceled Amid Washington University Student Protests

Bristol Palin's sex life is a common topic of discussion on celebrity gossip websites. Washington University students don't want to hear about it, though.

At least not in person, for a hefty fee.

The Dancing With the Stars finalist was dropped from a planned February speaking engagement at the St. Louis college following student protests.

Bristol's Sex Life

Bristol Palin, who got pregnant at 17, was invited by the Student Health Advisory Committee to talk abstinence during Student Sexual Responsibility Week.

But after the student body protested the use of student-generated money to fund her reportedly several thousand dollar fee, her appearance was called off.

"People are angry because of the opposition to Palin's lack of expertise and the high cost she charges," said student Philip Thomas, who started the protest.

Fellow undergrad Ryan McCombe started a Facebook page to protest the speech and gathered several harsh comments about the daughter of Sarah Palin.

"Bristol Palin rose to fame on none of her own merits," wrote one student. "She has absolutely zero credentials in this area, and costs a ton of money."

Added another, "I mean, is Bristol Palin honestly going to get up there and say that she was trying to make a baby and lay back and thought of England?"

"Or will she say that she had sex, without understanding the steps to be taken in order not to become pregnant?" said another anti-Bristol student.

Student advisory president Scott Elman said that the decision for Palin not to appear was "100 percent mutual" between her and the committee.

Hey, at least her new boyfriend will be there to comfort her.

Kate Walsh Slams Bristol Palin’s Abstinence Speech

Kate Walsh Slams Bristol Palin’s Abstinence Speech

Kate Walsh doesn’t understand why Bristol Palin is giving a speech about abstinence to college students from Washington University in St. Louis. The former ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ contestant is scheduled to appear next month during the college’s Sexual Responsibility Week. Bristol was recently named the Teen Abstinence Ambassador for the Candie’s Foundation.
Once Kate Walsh got wind of the news, she tweeted the following message to her fans:
“Welcome to the Idiocracy! RT @elliekirsh: @katewalsh please join students at Wash.U. to boycott Bristol Palin’s speech on abstinence. What does she know about college or abstaining?”

Fox News is reporting that Palin’s camp had no response, but Kate’s social media followers did. I guess enough people didn’t like what Kate was saying and told her so. The actress then claimed she had “freedom to tweet”:
“I’m not attacking anyone, freedom to tw’eet. Isn’t our country great? Or r YOU a communist?”
Oh boy. What’s your take?

Bristol Palin pursues radio job, confirms new boyfriend

Bristol Palin pursues radio job, confirms new boyfriend

By Jon Kopaloff, FilmMagic
Bristol Palin called in to Anchorage station KWHL's "The Bob & Mark Show" on Friday and talked about baby Tripp, her new house in Arizona and a new beau.

"Did you write a check for that house?" the deejays boldly asked. "Yes, I did," confirmed the 20-year-old Palin. "It made Dancing With The Stars worth it, for sure."

The two radio jocks grilled her about changing Tripp's last name from Johnston to Bristol Palin. "I've asked (Levi)," she said, also confirming that she has asked Johnston to sign over his custody rights, but hei has refused. She added that Levi has not seen the baby much lately. "Since Dancing With The Stars, he's seen him, at the most, three times. It's unfortunate for Tripp, but ..."
As for a new boyfriend?

"Are you guys getting personal with me?" and laughed. The deejays then sort of wormed a confirmation out of her and asked if she is happy.

"I'm thrilled. I love the town I live in. I love my house. Tripp's happy. He's healthy. Everything's great," said Bristol.

What's next for Bristol Palin?

"I'm working on a few different projects," she said, adding that she is pursing that Phoenix radio station job. "I'm going to meet with them and see if it's actually legitimate and see if I would like the guy I would be on air with."

Bristol Palin: Apologetic Non-Voter

Bristol Palin: Apologetic Non-Voter

She’s been holding her own and practicing her moves on “Dancing With the Stars,” so much so in fact, Bristol Palin did not find time to vote in the midterm elections on Tuesday (November 2).

The dancing darling admitted to Inside Edition, “I did not send my absentee ballots to Alaska. I’m going to be in trouble. Sorry, mom!”

And, when asked if she wants her mom, Sarah Palin, to run for president in 2012, Bristol said, "Of course I do. I know she is great, and she is great for our country.”

It’s being reported that Sarah has been tossing around the idea but has not definitively said she will.

Bristol Palin Practices Up for Another Big Dance

Bristol Palin Practices Up for Another Big Dance

Turning up for another long day of shakin' and movin', Bristol Palin was among those at the "Dancing With The Stars" studio in Hollywood, CA on Wednesday (October 20).

The daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin looked sporty as she smiled while heading inside to practice her moves alongside partner Mark Ballas.

Getting a reprieve the previous night as Florence Henderson ended up being voted off, Bristol said of the decision: "Florence was the one that I bonded with the most. She's such a good person and so good to be around."

Meanwhile, there are many out there who feel that Miss Palin should have been the ousted contestant, as one show addict commented: "This was ridiculous. Palin should have been sent home a couple of weeks ago after Michael Bolton. Henderson put more zip and emotion into her dancing in one night than Palin has done collectively. I guess she has the Tea Party voting for her. It's a shame that a talent show is dismissing the talent and keeping the one with no talent."  (Hollywood Gossip)

Bristol Palin: Post-DWTS Party Girl

Bristol Palin: Post-DWTS Party Girl

Blowing off some steam following her “Dancing with the Stars” performance, Bristol Palin was spotted out in Los Angeles last night (October 11).

The 19-year-old mom showed up at Mint nightclub so see her dancing partner Mark Ballas perform, sporting a black and white top with jeans.

Earlier in the evening, Bristol and Mark attempted to turn on the sex appeal with their “Umbrella” rumba.
And though they showed some definite improvement, Carrie Anne Inaba declared, "I want to see you dance with much more intensity." (Hollywood Gossip)

Bristol Palin Promises To Get Sexy For Dancing With The Stars

l Palin Promises To Get Sexy For Dancing With The Stars

Bristol Palin said she was going to be dressing conservatively for her stint on Dancing With The Stars, but now she wants to take it up a notch or two.

She said, “I’m definitely nervous for next week, because I have to be sexy in the dance and I have to find the sexy in me.”

She went on, “We’re doing the sexy dance next week, and I have to get into character. Dressing sexy will help me get into character more. Next week, I’ll be dressing sexy. This is it.”

So, “Bristol the pistol” will be putting on a show to gain votes, eh? I believe it. She has to do something to stay on the show, because her dance moves are definitely lacking.

What do you think? Should she be kicked off the show already? She isn’t a good dancer and having her there is just another excuse for the producers to try and wrangle her mother into making another appearance. (celebdirtylaundry)

Bristol Palin 'bans Johnston from DWTS'

Bristol Palin has reportedly banned Levi Johnston from being in the audience at Dancing With The Stars.

According to Pop Eater, Palin - who recently denied rumours of "diva"-like behaviour on the set of the ABC series - demanded that show producers forbid Johnston admission to attend.

"The last thing in the world Bristol wants is to look up from her cha cha cha and see his big goofy grin looking at her," a source said.

"This is her time to shine and she doesn't want him trying to steal her spotlight."

Another insider added: "I wouldn't put it past him to try and sneak into a taping. The only person that loves the press more than the Palins is Levi himself."

However, executives at ABC have promised to make sure that no problems arise.

"Security is very tight at Dancing With The Stars," a spokesman for the network insisted.

"If someone is not wanted in the ballroom, I can assure you they will not get in."

Bristol Palin to Levi Johnston: Get Your GED!

For months, Sarah Palin told journalist to leave her children alone. Now, Bristol Palin is making the media rounds, promoting her appearance on Dancing with the Stars and...

... nevermind. What's the use at this point? If people can't see the clear hypocrisy prevalent in every word out of this family's mouth, we can't help them.

But we can report on Bristol's recent Tonight Show appearance, in which she dished on DWTS and Levi Johnston and came across as sort of charming. A few excerpts:

Bristol Palin appeared on the 9-3-10 edition of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She came across as sort of charming on it.

On changes in Levi: The guy I fell in love with was a hard-working Alaskan man that didn’t want to wear your straight-legged jeans and boots and be chased by Radar and those kind of people.

Is she upset over their latest break-up? I’m not disappointed. I’m not heartbroken... I tried to make it work for my son. It didn’t work.

On Johnston's run for Mayor/reality show: Well, first he needs to move to Wasilla... and he needs to get his GED.

On her DWTS experience so far: I expected it to be hard work, but I'm so uncoordinated and don't have any rhythm. We're starting from scratch. (thehollywoodgossip)

Mercede Johnston Fairly Happy About Levi Johnston-Bristol Palin Engagement

Mercede Johnston, Levi Johnston's little sister, is happy for him and her soon-to-be sister-in-law Bristol Palin, who announced their engagement early last week.

Mostly happy.

She's not quite sure why they're racing down the aisle ... and you aren't alone there, Mercede Johnston. The timing and nature of the announcement was odd.

Recent reports that Levi and Bristol are already in the process of shopping a show about their second engagement and futre nuptials came as no surprise to us.

Noting that she, like Sarah Palin (supposedly), learned the news from Us Weekly, Mercede hints at this ulterior motive for their engagement on her blog:

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston
Levi and Mercede in simpler, pre-celebrity gossip times.

"I have to say with all the odd things going on lately I expected something. However I think there may be more to this picture than we are able to see now.

I would like to take a moment to congratulate my soon to be sister-in-law and my big brother. I sure hope this is a sincere decision that you have thought through carefully Levi, and that it will bring you happiness.

I do wish you guys would take a little more time with this, and do not understand why you are rushing things. Unless of course there is some reason for the hurry.

I am also very happy to see Tripp in Levi’s arms again, and I do know that it will be good for him to have both of his parents back in his life full time from now on. And you know he really does deserve the best that you can provide.

I can’t wait to watch the two of you wed, I wouldn’t miss it for the world."

Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston: Reality Show Shoppin'!

Remember yesterday, when we cynically posited that, maybe, just maybe, Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston got engaged for show ... as in a reality show?

Looks like we know our stuff.

Levi and Bristol are already looking for a reality TV crew to chronicle their rekindled romance, according to a source very familiar with the negotiations.

This morning, TMZ reports that the couple, which announced their surprise second engagement earlier this week, is shopping "multiple reality shows."

Some ideas involve the couple and 18-month-old son, Tripp. The duo split up shortly after he was born, when Levi went on an anti-Palin media crusade.

Levi and Bristol Pic
"Oooh, that producer definitely looks interested!"

Sources say the leading concept from the two, who aren't having sex until they tie the knot, currently involves all three and their "parenting issues."

Yep, pretty much what the online rumors suggested.

It's unclear if the show would be set in Alaska, or if Bristol's mom, former Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, would be involved in some capacity.

They could strike a deal soon, as negotiations are "ongoing."

Of course, Blevi looking for a nice payday doesn't mean they aren't getting married for love ... but you do have to wonder where that line is blurred. (thehollywoodgossip)

Bristol Palin Has No Acting Ambition

Bristol Palin says her acting debut on last night's episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager was probably her last venture into that career field.

But don't expect her to line up any more acting gigs in the future.

Asked if she wants to pursue an entertainment career after her debut effort, she says, "Not acting. I like doing speaking engagements and stuff like that."

"Right now I'm just focused on raising Tripp," Bristol Palin adds.

B. Palin

The 19-year-old mother of 1 1/2-year-old son Tripp, whose father Levi Johnston, says she was happy to film the episode of The Secret Life just the same.

She appears as a friend of Amy (Shailene Woodley) at a music program for teen moms in NYC: "I didn’t have many lines or anything like that," says Palin.

"I just hope that this show opens up a dialogue between parents and teens - and teens amongst themselves - about the consequences of teen pregnancy."

Is she discouraging or promoting teen pregnancy? (thehollywoodgossip)
