Julia Roberts Scores “Snow White” Evil Queen Role

Julia Roberts Scores “Snow White” Evil Queen Role

She’s very selective with her movie roles these days, and Julia Roberts has signed on to star as the Queen in the upcoming “Snow White” film.

The “Pretty Woman” babe will begin shooting the flick, based on the Brothers Grimm fable, this coming April.

Unlike the classic tale, this incarnation of “Snow White” is a more modern-edged take, with Snow White looking for a payback along with the help of her seven dwarves.

Relativity Media, the production company behind the film, has announce they’re shooting for a June 29th, 2012 release date.

Julia Roberts Really Wants Javier Bardem To Get An Oscar Nomination

Julia Roberts Really Wants Javier Bardem To Get An Oscar Nomination

Julia Roberts thinks that her Eat, Pray, Love co-star, Javier Bardem is so deserving of an Oscar nomination for his role in Biutiful that she even hosted a special screening of the movie for a select industry crowd, according to EW.com. Roberts spoke to EW and said of the reason why she thinks that Bardem has been mostly overlooked so far this awards season;
I think the movie hasn’t gotten the exposure. You don’t know where it is. It’s like this hidden little jewel. Especially in this particular season, people don’t hunt for things. They just take what you throw in their face.
Well I think that can be said about most seasons to be honest, it’s normally the movies with the biggest ‘campaign’s’ that tend to be the ones with the most nominations. When asked if she though Bardem will be able to score a best actor nod, she said;
If there’s not hope for talent, then we’re f—ed.
I haven’t seen Biutiful, so I can’t comment on whether he’s deserving or not of a nomination. Have you seen it, what do you think?

Julia Roberts on Her Good Figure: ‘It is 97 percent genetics’

Julia Roberts on Her Good Figure: ‘It is 97 percent genetics’

42 year-old actress Julia Roberts brings the quotes of the day:
On her constant slim figure:
It is 97 percent genetics. Don’t let anybody tell you any crap about anything else, because that’s what it is — 97 percent genetics and three percent just get your ass moving. I should know because I’ve never met a cookie I didn’t like!”
On weight-obsessed Hollywood:
“I’m too old for that crap. It’s so silly, so pointless, and it’s motivated by a culture that for some reason finds it entertaining to perpetuate the glorification of our youth. It’s really sad and disinteresting. I mean, I know people really suffer and I just think, ‘How can they perpetuate that? It’s silly to consider it a personal triumph for myself that in almost 24 years in showbusiness — except for being pregnant — I’ve weighed within about a five to 10lb range. That seems unusual, but I’m lucky I haven’t suffered those things. I think it’s important for us to start perpetuating the healthy, happy way of looking at it as opposed to supporting the negative ideal of what a girl should ideally look like.”
… says Julia.
Do you guys agree with her thoughts?

Julia Robert Plans to Adopt Child From India

Julia Robert Plans to Adopt Child From India

Julia Roberts adopting child
Julia Roberts adopting childAfter couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopts their children from another country, now Julia Roberts intend to follow the steps Brangelina. Interestingly, Roberts plan to adopt a child from India, where she filmed ‘Eat, Pray, Love’.

So, is this related her new religion? Could be true, because she is now Hindu, which would fit with the background of the child later.

However, there are other causes that makes Roberts plan to give a younger brother for her twins Hazel and Finn, also Henry. The difficulties she experienced in her last pregnancy made her reluctant to get pregnant again. Thus, adoption becomes the best way for Roberts and Danny Moder, her husband  to enlarge their family.

A reliable source stated this to the Cleveland Leader newspaper, “Julia already wanted more children for many years. But in her last pregnancy and she had to stay in the hospital for some time before she finally got the twins. So, adoption may be the best way for her. “ (judyhalone)

Julia Roberts Brings the Quote of the Day
“I gained 10 pounds for this movie and I thought I’d hurt myself trying to get my jeans on. I packed on the weight during the Italy part of the shoot, but then people said, ‘Oh, you’ll lose it when you film in India.’ Somehow I didn’t get that memo.”
“I believe that guys don’t care about what you look like naked. Anyway, that’s what dimmer switches are for!”

I Came, I Saw, and I Conquered Your Ridiculous Penchant for Eat, Pray, Love

Life favors the strong and the purposeful, not the overfed and the pathetic:
WHEN Julia Roberts got word that Ryan Murphy planned to turn the best-selling memoir “Eat, Pray, Love” into a movie, she had a fast response: “Who?” You know, her agent explained, the guy who created “Nip/Tuck,” that sick and twisted plastic surgery show. “Oh, the ‘Nip/Tuck’ guy, that pricked up my ears a little,” Ms. Roberts recalled.
How had a man with almost no film experience wormed his way into directing a big, juicy movie? Curious, she agreed to meet Mr. Murphy at a Malibu restaurant and realized the answer before the first Arnold Palmers arrived. “I fell totally under his spell,” Ms. Roberts said. “We’re sort of like best girlfriends now.”
Mr. Murphy is nothing if not seductive. Self-assured to the point of cockiness, a wicked sense of humor, scary-ambitious yet charmingly eager to please, fashion-forward: it’s an intoxicating brew. Not to mention the literal light-headedness you feel standing near him. This is not a man who is bashful about his Yves Saint Laurent cologne.
I wish Julia Roberts would do a kick ass action film. I want to see her throwing grown men down flights of stairs and shooting rocket propelled grenades into office buildings, something tasteful but fast-paced. These weepy movies for fat girls aren't doing so well. (celebritydisaster)

She continued, “I packed on the pounds during the Italy part of the shoot, but then people said, ‘Oh, you’ll lose it when you film in India.’

Laughing, Julia added, “Somehow, I didn’t get that memo.”  (Hollywood Gossip)

Julia Roberts: Elle September 2010

Julia Roberts Elle Magazine

Julia Roberts is on the Cover of Elle September 2010 Edition and here she clears some misconceptions regarding botox for which women are going crazy these days to just look young. She talked to Elle where she talked about her acting skills, working with directors, On botox/the plastic surgery trend in Hollywood and much more.

Here are some of the highlights from the interview:

On her acting skills:
“I have no acting technique. And there’s nothing more boring than actors sitting around talking about acting.”

On working with directors: “I’m always asking those guys to tell me what they want. The same with George Clooney. ‘Name it for me,’ I tell him, ‘and I’ll do it.’”

On botox/the plastic surgery trend in Hollywood: “It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story… and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.”

Julia Roberts In NYC

Julia Roberts In NYC

Julia Roberts made a stop at The Late Show With David Letterman last night in order to promote her newest movie, Eat, Pray, Love.

There is so much hype surrounding this film. I am REALLY curious as to whether it will actually be any good. Are you one of those people who always thinks the book is better than the movie?

And Julia is so beyond gorgeous. If I looked like that, I wouldn't ever want to get plastic surgery either!
